I do not often get to work on logos, but I really enjoy the challenge and process. Below are the examples I have. All are local businesses that I worked directly with to create the image they needed to represent all that they do.
THE SYLVIA THOMAS CENTER WAS A PERSONAL PROJECT I WORKED ON WHILE CREATING DESIGN FOR THEIR ANNUAL GEMS & JEANS EVENT. ALTHOUGH THEY DID NOT REQUEST A REDESIGN, AND HAVE NOT IMPLEMENTED, I FELT COMPELLED TO UPDATE AND REFINE THEIR LOGO. THIS IS AN ORGANIZATION I HAVE NEEDED IN MY PERSONAL LIFE, SO THE MOTIVATION WAS THERE FOR ME TO HELP THEM AS THEY HAVE PROVIDED HELP TO ME AND MY FAMILY. IN LOOKING AT YOUR LOGOS, I RECOMMENDED LOSING THE BLACK OUTLINE ON THE HEART AND UPDATING THE TEXT OF SYLVIA THOMAS CENTER. THE BLACK OUTLINE IS A REDUNDANCY THAT ONLY DARKENS YOUR LOGO. I HAVE REDRAWN THE HEART, MAINTAINING THE HAND DRAWN LOOK WHILE CREATING A FULLER OVERALL FORM. MY ULTIMATE RECOMMENDATION ON THE FAR RIGHT UPDATES THE PRIMARY TYPEFACE TO EMULATE THE DRAWN HEART AND REPLACE BLACK WITH A SOFTER PURPLE HUE.
